Dynein and actin
WebMar 15, 2024 · Dynein and kinesin motor proteins transport vesicles along microtubules, whereas myosins drive vesicles along actin filaments. Here, we present a brief overview of multiple endocytic pathways and our current understanding of the involvement of these motor proteins in the regulation of the different cellular entry routes. WebDynein is a family of cytoskeletal motor proteins that move along microtubules in cells. They convert the chemical energy stored in ATP to mechanical work. Dynein transports various cellular cargos, provides forces and displacements important in mitosis, and drives the beat of eukaryotic cilia and flagella.

WebDynactin. Dynactin was initially identified as a factor that promoted trafficking of vesicles mediated by cytoplasmic dynein (Schroer, 2004 ). Dynactin is composed of the Arp1 rod, which contains Arp1, Arp11, actin, CapZ, p62, p27, and p25, along with p150 glued, dynamitin, and p24/p22 ( Schroer, 2004 ). WebApr 1, 2016 · X-ray crystal structures: how the dynein motor uses ATP hydrolysis to produce force. • CryoEM: how dynactin is built around a filament of Arp1 (actin related protein-1). • The dynein tail binds in parallel grooves on dynactin's Arp1 filament. • BICD2 recruits dynein and dynactin to cargos and activates processive movement.
